Centro Stefano Franscini conference centre at Monte Verità
Participants are encouraged to stay at the conference centre which is in beautiful surroundings on the hill behind Ascona overlooking Lago Maggiore. There is only a limited number of single rooms available at the centre - the registration form has an option where you can specify a name of someone you wish to share with. Some participants could be accommodated in nearby hotels and these rooms should be reserved through the local organiser using the online registration form (prices of external hotels will vary.)
People staying at the conference center (preferred option) will take advantage of a special rate of about 200CHF/night, including high-standard accomodation in the recently refurbished Stefano Franscini Center, full board (breakfast/lunch/dinner/coffee breaks) and use of conference facilities. Priority will be given to participants wishing to stay for the whole duration of the conference. People who choose to stay elsewhere will have to pay approximately 100CHF/day in addition to the external hotel costs, to cover for lunch, coffee breaks, dinner and use of conference facilities. Notice that people participating only to the Great08 workshop cannot be accomodated in the Center due to logistics reasons but will have to stay at an external hotel. We have block-booked a number of rooms in the convenient, nearby Hotel La Perla, with high standards of accomodation, for CHF 140/night for a single room, CHF 220/night for a double and CHF 160/night for a double for single use. The price includes breakfast and transfers to the Center in the morning and back to the hotel in the evening. (Full details will follow shortly.) Please indicate on the registration form if you wish to take advantage of this external accomodation.
Lunch and dinner are three course meals with drinks and coffee included. The first meal is an evening meal on Sunday the 26th, and the last meal is the lunch on Friday the 31st.
