Outreach
We coordinate and organise a range of outreach activities for schools, educators and various media.
These include popular talks for the general public, hosted visits for school children of all ages, training days for science teachers, open days and new stories presenting out reseach activities to local and international media sources.

At the Institute for Theoretical Physics we carry out world class leading research in the following areas:
- how did planets, stars and galaxies form
- what is the origin of the universe
- what are the physical laws of nature?
- hunt for dark energy

- the origin of fundamental particles
- exploring the properties of matter with the LHC
Teacher Training Workshops
March 2008, important news for science teachers - the EinsteinPlus workshop at the Perimeter Institute (http://www.einsteinplus.ca/)
Local accommodation is covered by the Perimeter Institute and there are a number of travel grants available from us. Please apply for travel grants by email or letter to the director of the institute. All of the applicants will be invited to a one day workshop at the University of Zurich where we will present our own research activities in this area. (Date to be announced later.)
The deadline for the EinsteinPlus workshop applications is April 15.
University of Zurich's 175th Anniversary
This year is the University of Zurich's 175th anniversary and there will be an open day on April 19th, 2008, with many events, stands and attractions. The ITP will host an astronomical treasure hunt, displays on chaos, interactive simulations of gravity and much more.
